Coorg, or Kodagu, is the closest hill station to Mysore, and the drive there is part of the reason people book this trip. The distance from Mysore to Coorg (Madikeri) is about 118 to 120 km, and a private cab covers it in roughly 3 hours on the Mysore-Madikeri road via Kushalnagar. That's shorter than the drive to Ooty, which is why Coorg is the more common weekend pick for families and couples travelling from Mysore.

Both roads are in good condition through most of the year. In heavy monsoon (July-August), our drivers check for landslide alerts around the Madikeri ghats before departure and adjust timing if needed.

October to March is peak season. Post-monsoon greenery is at its best through November, and the weather stays cool and dry right through winter, which is why most family bookings land in this window. Monsoon (June to September) turns Coorg genuinely dramatic, waterfalls in full flow, mist over the coffee estates, but landslide-prone stretches near Madikeri can add an hour or two to the drive, and some viewpoints close temporarily. Summer (April-May) is warmer but still noticeably cooler than Mysore, and a reasonable option if your dates are fixed.

The distance is approximately 118 to 120 km via Hunsur, and the drive takes around 3 hours by private cab. Via Kushalnagar it's closer to 125 km but passes the Golden Temple and Dubare Elephant Camp along the way.
